in PENNSYLVANIA
The first Pennsylvania Builders for the Bay roundtable was completed in October 2003. Held in south-central Pennsylvania in a small watershed just upstream of Harrisburg, the Paxton Creek Watershed Roundtable is the second in a series of 12 roundtables planned for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed under the Builders for the Bay partnership.
In November 2004, we completed a Lancaster Area Roundtable. Our partners include East Hempfield Township, West Hempfield Township, Manor Township, Lancaster County Planning Commission and the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County.
In June 2006, the Center, in partnership with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, finished up the latest Builders for the Bay Roundtable in Blair County, PA, which includes the Little Juniata and Beaverdam Branch watersheds. This effort to examine local codes and ordinances and achieve consensus on improvements to implement better site design involved nine entities - Blair County and eight townships and boroughs within the County. For more information, contact Julie Tasillo at 410-461-8323. Read more about the effort in The Bay Journal, download the consensus
document here, or read our press release.
