 stormwater solids (i.e., trash and large organic debris) play a major role 
 in contributing to water quality impairments. These sources have not been s
 ufficiently recognized as a substantial contributor of bacteria, nutrients 
 and other pollutants, and recent research has hshow that the problems emana
 ting from these sources may belarger than we have imagined. However, contro
 lling these substances through programs such as illicit discharge detection
  and elimination (IDDE) may be one of the eaiser, less expensive options fo
 r emeting contaminant load reductions. This webcast will look at the best p
 ractices to cotnrol illicit discharge and gross stormwater solids, the prog
 rammatic and policy implications, and provide some case studies to illustra
 te the quantifiable pollutant load reduction benefits for water quality of 
 these cost-effective stormwater BMPs. \n
