Watershed Restoration Planning for the Centennial and Wilde Lake Watersheds
Project Background
The Center for Watershed Protection and Tetra Tech, Inc. are working with Howard County Department of Public Works to produce a watershed restoration plan for both Centennial Lake and Wilde Lake. Centennial and Wilde Lake are two suburban subwatersheds located in Howard County. Wilde Lake is highly developed and located in one of the original neighborhoods in the planned city of Columbia, MD. Centennial Lake is a less densely developed watershed containing mostly low-density residential development and low intensity agriculture. The outcomes of this project are restoration and protection plans for both Lakes. Specific locations and recommendations will be identified for projects and actions to be taken to improve the health of the Lakes and the streams which drain to them.
