April 30, 2013 Dear Colleague, What’s in a name? Well, we think a lot, which is why we have renamed our professional membership the Center for Watershed Protection Association (CWPA) to relate directly to the Center, its non-profit work over 20 years and relationships with practitioners throughout the industry. The new name signifies a renewed commitment to our original reason for starting the association in 2010 - to provide valuable resources and build a broad network of professionals who can share their experiences. On a practical level, this is really just a name change since we will maintain benefits, such as the webcast discounts, and improve others. The biggest change is to the Watershed Science Bulletin, previously published twice per year. The April issue presently online is a complete issue. After April, Bulletin features from each issue will be released incrementally as regular installments. The intention is to spread the insights and related resources more frequently throughout the year. In light of economic challenges, we have lowered the individual member rate by 10% for 2013. We hope you enjoy the new Center website, including our new blog. It has been designed to make it easier to find all the Center resources you need and incorporate the latest ideas and advice from experts across the industry. Thanks for your hard work to restore and protect watersheds. We look forward to continuing to serve you. Sincerely, Hye Yeong Kwon Executive Director |
