Since our inception, the Center has established itself as a reliable source of practical guidance on the implementation of effective watershed protection and restoration techniques. This guidance is developed under our Research Program. We conduct applied research and synthesize the best available science to better understand the influence of land use change on the health of our water resources and how best to prevent and/or mitigate these impacts.
Internally, our Research Program provides the technical and scientific foundation that supports all our other work. We also identify emerging and under-developed watershed issues as well as potential solutions, and encourage policymakers, scientists and funders to direct resources, research and attention to them.
